現在開催中のショートショート フィルムフェスティバル&アジア2023で来日される監督さんたちへの日本のお土産として、弊社リールホルダーを寄贈させていただきました。
お手に取って喜んでいらっしゃる監督さんたちの笑顔が嬉しいです。
短い短い映画と、小さな小さな着物の端切れのコラボレーションとなりました。

It's short, so it stays in people's minds.
It is precisely because it is short
that it condenses feelings
The appeal of short films is immeasurable.
Rurineko untie old clothes and wash them,
breathe new life into it.
If you don't wear it as a kimono,
use it till the end
We are making things to burn life as a thing.
短いからこそ、人の心に残る
短いからこそ、そこに想いが凝縮される
ショートフィルムの魅力は計り知れません。
瑠璃猫は古い着物を解いて洗って、
新しい命を吹き込んで。
きものとして着ないのであれば、
最後まで使って、
物としての命を燃焼させる為の
モノ作りをしています。
Rurineko remake work is
Pull out all the threads of the old kimono,
and separate it into its individual parts,

瑠璃猫のリメイクの仕事は
古いきものの全ての糸を抜き、
それぞれのパーツに分け、
バラバラの一枚布に戻してからそれぞれを洗い、
シミ等の有無を見繕います。
そして、各パーツの良い所を、
良いように使い、
別の使い方という命を吹き込みます。
From one big "kimono" piece,

大きな「きもの」と言う1つの作品から、
また別の作品をピツクアップするように、
違った確度から布と言う素材を見つめ直します。
その時には着物であった時とは別の観点が生まれます。
そして、最期にどうしても残る、
小さな端切れも大切にします。
ほんの極小の端切れであっても、
例えばつまみ細工の花弁一枚へと、
新たな生命として蘇るからです。
It has been a long tradition of "Kimono"
and "Japanese dressmaking" which is the art of
making Kimono called "wasai".
It is a spirit that has been nurtured in
traditional Japanese culture.
And it is because it is a small piece of cloth,
the eye is drawn to the beauty of the details.
The fine dyeing technique.
The mastery of the weaving technique.
Delicate color matching.
The shimmering details that were not visible
when it was a large kimono.
We think this is similar to
the aesthetics of short films.

きものを作る技術である「和裁」と言う
日本の伝統的な文化の中に育まれている心です。
そして小さくなった布だからこそ、
細部の美しさに目が行くのです

大きなきものであった時には見えていなかった
細部の煌めきがそこに息づいています。
